Aftercare

  • DERM-SHIELD BANDAGE CARE INSTRUCTIONS

*You may leave the derm shield on for 3-5 days

    * If for some reason you have a reaction to the derm shield ( you never know, I turned 30 and allergies came out of nowhere for me ) please remove the derm shield prior to the 3-5 days. ( a few things to look out for if there is a reaction: red, irritated and painful on the outside/lining of the derm shield bandage ). If the derm shield feels in anyway uncomfortable/too painful, please feel free to remove the bandage and follow the “when you remove the derm shield” instructions. Also, if your derm shield leaks, please remove the derm shield and start aftercare. My rule of thumb is if something is leaking out of the bandage, anything can get in so it should be removed and you should start the same aftercare instructions.

*When you are ready to remove*

    • In the shower, wet the covered area.

    • Gently peel the derm shield by pulling from the edges back over itself.

    • Do this slowly , a little bit at a time until the bandage is off completely.

    • Once the derm shield is completely removed, wash it well with unscented soap and water and press dry with a clean paper towel.

    • apply a small, pea sized amount of unscented lotion to the tattoo 2-3 times a day as needed for the next 14 days ( washing a few times a day as well ).

    • wear loose/breathable clothing over fresh your tattoo when you can.
